Alfred Caves

The Alfred Caves is a collection of 41 unexplored limestone caves. It is situated near Ramnagar Beach at a distance of about 35 km from the town of Diglipur. It takes an entire day to complete the trip to all the caves and return to our accommodation. To complete this trip you need to depart early in the morning and return before the sunset.

While traveling from Port Blair to Diglipur if you take a halt and visit the Limestone Caves in Baratang, then it will be a great experience where you can say The Limestone Caves is a baby version of the Alfred Caves in Baratang.

Description

To enter the caves, hire a guide or a forest personnel’s guidance which will allow you to go inside and explore everything around the caves till the end.

These caves have a very small entrance which later opens up to multiple small and wide caves. It’s the home to many Swiftlets, Fruit Eating Bats and respects their habitat is important. They are not harmful but you need to follow the instructions given by the guide as he is the best person to keep you aware, safe, and on track.

Those who love to explore the experience should visit these awesome caves. An entire day would be required to explore everything at Alfred caves. Due to the lack of proper guidelines in the place, we suggest you get in touch with us if you’re planning to visit Alfred caves.
